What digital design covers
Digital design at Layer Studio is about making information easy to absorb on screens of any size. We take your message and shape it into layouts that guide the eye, using spacing, contrast and type to separate what matters from what does not. The result is content that reads clearly whether viewed on a phone, tablet or desktop.
The work sits between strategy and production. We translate your goals into visual structure, then refine until the hierarchy feels natural. This is not decoration; it is the architecture of understanding, built so visitors or readers can find what they need without searching.

Who needs to use this
Any small or medium-sized business that communicates digitally benefits from clear digital design. If you send proposals, run a landing page, or present to clients, the way your content is laid out affects whether people stay or leave. Good design reduces the effort required to understand your offer.
It is especially useful when your message is complex or when you compete in a crowded space. A well-structured layout lets your audience compare options, find contact details and act without guessing. If your current pages or decks feel cluttered or inconsistent, this is the place to start.
- Businesses with active websites or landing pages
- Teams that create client presentations regularly
- Organisations launching a new product or service
- Anyone whose audience struggles to find key information
What we need from you
We work best when you provide the core content and direction early. This includes the text you want displayed, any brand guidelines or colour preferences, and examples of layouts you admire or wish to avoid. The more specific your brief, the faster we can move from concept to refined design.
You should also identify the primary goal for each asset. Is the landing page meant to capture leads, drive sign-ups or explain a service? Presentations may need to persuade, inform or update stakeholders. Clear objectives help us decide what to emphasise and what to keep secondary.
- Final or near-final copy for each screen or slide
- Brand guidelines, logos and approved colour palettes
- Examples of layouts you like or dislike
- A statement of the main goal for each asset
How the project runs
We begin with a short scoping call to confirm deliverables, format and timeline. From there, we produce initial concepts for your review, followed by one or two refinement rounds based on your feedback. Each stage is signed off before we move on, so changes are caught early rather than at the end.
Agree the design files, exports and implementation notes with whoever will build or maintain the digital experience. Discuss states, responsive behaviour and content dependencies before handover. Development, hosting and ongoing maintenance are separate responsibilities unless expressly included in the proposal.

Choices to discuss
A key decision is whether implementation is part of your project or handled elsewhere. We design the visuals and layouts; building the website or coding the landing page is a separate stage unless you ask us to coordinate it. Clarify this early so timelines and responsibilities are clear.
You will also need to decide how many screens or slides are in scope and whether responsive variants are required. A landing page may need desktop and mobile layouts; a presentation deck may need landscape and portrait versions. Each variant adds to the scope, so plan accordingly.
- Whether implementation is included or outsourced
- Number of screens or slides in scope
- Responsive variants needed per asset
- Format of final deliverables (Figma, PDF, etc.)
Your working checklist
- Confirm the main goal for each digital asset before scoping
- Gather final copy and brand guidelines in one place
- Decide whether implementation is handled by Layer Studio or another team
- Identify which screens or slides need responsive variants
- Prepare examples of layouts you like and those you do not
- Agree the number of refinement rounds included in the brief
- Specify the file formats required at handover
Questions worth asking
Is implementation part of your project or handled elsewhere?
Implementation is not automatically included. We design the visuals and layouts; building the website or landing page is a separate stage unless you ask us to coordinate it. Clarify this early so timelines and responsibilities are clear.
What is the difference between a website concept and a landing-page layout?
A website concept covers the overall look and structure of a site, including multiple pages and navigation. A landing-page layout focuses on a single page designed to guide visitors toward one specific action, such as signing up or contacting you.
How many refinement rounds are included?
The number and purpose of review rounds are agreed during scoping. Consolidate feedback around the intended audience, content and agreed requirements. Ask how further revisions or a changed direction would affect the scope before work begins.
